B’nai Mitzvah

Our B’nai Mitzvah program is designed to both build community and actualize the vision of a coming-of age experience for each individual and family.

We created our curriculum by incorporating elements from the most exciting, innovative, and functional programs from synagogues and other organizations.

The core of our B’nai Mitzvah learning remains in our twice a month Sunday program, focused on history and identity. In addition, students can choose to form a Hebrew Pod for language and liturgy. From there, families can create a one-to-one plan for a personalized culmination event in a location of their choosing.

While many families and students may choose an individual culmination experience and learn Hebrew, we are dedicated to maintaining a program where students can come and learn without focusing on an end date or ceremony.  Families that choose to have a B’nai Mitzvah work one-on-one with a mentor who guides the students’ learning, and works with families to design and coordinate the logistics of their culmination experience. For more information, please reach out to our JLC Director Manda Graizel at Manda@sijcc.net.

In order to participate in our B’nai Mitzvah program, students must be enrolled in Core Sundays.
