POSITION OVERVIEW
Silverlake Independent Jewish Community Center seeks a friendly, detail-oriented Site Rep to serve as an on-site liaison for evening and weekend rentals and events on our campus. We expect hours to range between 2 and 10 per week, with potential to greatly increase as our rental program grows.
In addition to ensuring the campus is prepared for rentals and setting up and breaking down furniture and A/V equipment, the people in this role also oversee safety including monitoring security cameras, screening attendees, responding to emergencies, and locking up when the rental is over. The primary responsibilities of the Site Representatives revolve around providing attentive, professional service to renters and event attendees.
What You’ll Do
Serve as an Representative of SIJCC; we want everyone to feel welcome!
Own the overall day-of experience for renters and ensure they are not only satisfied but are excited to return.
Setup spaces with the appropriate furniture, technology, and equipment and then return them to their original state at the conclusion of the rental.
Troubleshoot A/V and technology issues so that renters have a positive experience.
Monitor security cameras, grant campus access to authorized parties, and ensure the overall security of the campus.
Respond appropriately and in line with SIJCC’s procedures and values in the event of an emergency.
Ensure space is adequately stocked and kept clean during events.
Who YOu Are
You have relevant work experience, including customer service, administrative, and/or event production work.
You are a master at understanding and meeting people’s needs and you can also politely and firmly lay down the law when necessary; you have exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills.
Your eye for detail is unparalleled.
You are incredibly reliable, honest, and can keep sensitive information private.
You have a self-starter attitude and ability to take responsibility for events from start to finish.
You have access to reliable transportation to shifts assigned on late notice (while we always schedule in advance, there are occasions when illness necessitates a last-minute call).
You are aligned with SIJCC’s values, including a strong commitment to the principles of anti-racism, feminism, and pluralism.
You know how to use Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based software.
While we prefer someone who has familiarity with Jewish culture and/or Silver Lake, neither is required.
Other REquirements
Availability on nights and weekends.
High school diploma.
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination, including booster(s).
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. That said, SIJCC embraces and is fully compliant with the California Fair Chance Act and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
