Political education? In a time like this? YES.

When the world is in chaos there is no better time to look at the successes and strategies of change-makers and movements that have come before us. Our people’s rich history is full of revolutionary ideas and actions, and of course some teachable failures. How much do you know about Jews in modern political struggle? Or in the American labor movement? Or during “Red Scare”? Find out more through communal learning and other exciting virtual resources that ESJAC is bringing to the East Side Jews & SIJCC community. This newly formed, constantly growing, radical minyan-ish group is excited to dive into research, essays, movies, and more, to explore the Jewish relationship to activism in modern political history. All ages and backgrounds are encouraged to join!

We meet monthly (usually) and never run out of things to say!

THIS WEEK:

Our conversation will be informed by a piece from Jewish Currents, written by Gabi Kirk:

"Authors of California Ethnic Studies Curriculum Decry Cuts to Arab Studies"

PLUS, we will be having a guest speaker…

Local activist, and all around amazing brilliant person Michal David will be sharing her experiences and efforts in supporting this important new curriculum.

Please read the article prior to this meeting, or just come excited to hear people discuss it!
