Join East side jews for rethinking fascism
In this workshop we get to explore ways to resist and act accordingly against the fascism we encounter in our everyday lives, on a macro and micro level. Together we will use both historical and political context to dig into the concept of fascism itself, and learn how to identify it, both in its extreme and mundane forms. How might expressions of antipathy towards climate change, hunger, and the unhoused also be expressions of microfascism? What are the ways we see this ladder up to instituted and unofficial responses that lead to disastrous consequences? This interactive experience will encourage participants to put newfound antifascist knowledge into practice, identifying everyday expressions of fascism, and simple ways to counter it. This Workshop will be led by our very own Eastside Jews community members Dr. Julia Alekseyeva and Jon Danforth-Appell.
Drinks and Dinner will be provided. Gluten free and vegan pptions available!
